Depart from Hanoi early today for a road trip toward Lang Son province near the China border. Bac Son, your destination of the day is known as one of the most photogenic sites in northern Vietnam boasting towering mountains jut out of the green rice paddies. It is also home to the friendly ethnic group of Tay and Nung people.
Upon arrival, have lunch in Quynh Son then prepare for a hike to Na Lay peak for a stunning panorama of Bac Son.
The highlight of this evening is the cooking demonstration from your local host.

After breakfast, say goodbye to your host and kick-off for the Cao Bang road trip.
Your drive today witnesses the changes of landscapes with higher mountains and greener valleys with rice and maize plantations along the roads. Stops are offered on the way for photographs.
Settle your stay in a local family in Phia Thap village.

Spend a full day exploring the highlights of Cao Bang province starting from seeing Phia Thap's traditional work of incense stick making. We then drive to Quay Son River to glide over its waterways on a kayak.
After that, embark on a short trek to Nung Liec village to learn about the life of the Tay ethnic group as well having lunch.
In the afternoon, visit Ban Gioc, arguably the most beautiful waterfalls in Vietnam !

Enjoy your home-cooked breakfast then explore Nguom Ngao cave which is 2,144m in length.
Depart from Trung Khanh to Ba Be National Park in the morning. On the way, visit Pac Rang village which is famous for its blacksmith.
This evening, you`ll do another homestay in a traditional stilt house of a Tay family.

To soak up the best of Ba Be National Park, we board a boat downstream of Nang River, checking in Puong Cave and Dau Dang Waterfall.
The rest of the day is left for a leisure walk to experience the village life.
Option: kayaking in Nang River and return by boat.

Spend half a day walking from Bo Lu village to An Ma temple, a sacred site for local people that is dedicated to mountain gods. Along the way, take time to admire the Babe`s flora and its lush jungle.
Return to Hanoi.
Our guide will drop you back to your hotel in Hanoi.
